AM Data Service rebrands as STACK Cybersecurity

May 1, 2024

Livonia, Michigan – AM Data Service, a leading IT managed service provider (MSP), recently started doing business as STACK Cybersecurity. This strategic move reflects our commitment to advancing our service offerings and more closely aligning them with the ever-changing threat landscape.

Things Have Changed

Historically, MSPs have operated on a flat-rate basis, offering unlimited support for a consistent monthly fee. The infrastructure MSPs manage ranges from computers to firewalls, routers, switches, active directories, email, and other network devices. This is done from a centralized software or technology stack to monitor and troubleshoot remotely. In short, MSPs serve as the IT department for many companies.

STACK Cybersecurity chose to challenge this traditional model, arguing that MSPs should not allow clients with scant technical knowledge to dictate how to protect their networks. As specialists, we must guide and determine the best security practices for clients. We are the experts; we should lead the way. And that is exactly what we are doing.

Rich Miller, CEO

“STACK Cybersecurity has reworked our traditional MSP model into a security-first approach,” said Rich Miller, President & CEO. “Our platform is built around the Critical Security Controls (CIS) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) frameworks. These frameworks not only influence cybersecurity insurance questionnaires but also align with the latest trends in business compliance. It made sense to structure our offering around them.”

Now a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP), STACK Cybersecurity is leading the way with its security-first, solution-based product which leverages tools to deliver a cybersecurity-focused solution that empowers businesses to ensure they are resilient to attacks, recoverable when attacks happen, and they will, and to make them insurable.
